Banana Peel Wound Plaster with Natural Antioxidants and Antibacterial Properties

This study develops a natural wound plaster using Ambon banana peel
extract, chosen over the Kepok variety due to its higher content of
flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. These compounds are known to
accelerate wound healing, reduce inflammation, and provide antibacterial
protection. The formulation also includes Aloe vera and tea tree oil to
enhance healing and prevent infections. Our results show that the Ambon
banana-based plaster promotes faster wound recovery compared to
commercial plasters, making it a safer and eco-friendly alternative for wound
care.
